In 1848, a national sensation made its way to California, this sensation was later to be known as the California Gold Rush. During this time, prospectors deployed many means in their search for gold, from pickaxes to dynamite. The sensation lasted about seven years, this culminated in a great deal of migration to California and the shaping of many future industries. This era is the inspiration for Powder Keg Winery.
